Pictured above: This blue hole is one of several freshwater springs that form the headwaters of the Wekiva River, one of Florida’s only Federally and State designated wild and scenic Rivers. The river is navigable for canoes and just past this blue hole, canoes can be rented for exploring. The Wekiva River flows into the St. Johns River, which then runs north to Jacksonville and the Atlantic Ocean.
